![]() The ONE reason, the ONLY reason I switched to Ableton -and it has nothing to do with the quality of the built-in synths or sample libraries, which is great, but no no- is the live playing possibility it opens. I still struggle a bit to get up to speed with Ableton when it comes to creating three or four "patterns" and getting ideas out there quick. I'd argue the "pattern" approach that FL uses is easier to understand: I keep coming back to FL for quick sketches because you can get a lot done with a few clicks. IMO both of them are pretty comparable when it comes to writing music and putting it all together in FL Studio's timeline / Ableton's arrangement view as an iterative process. I'm definitely not a pro but I think I have found my fav DAW. Hey there! I used FL Studio for 9 years before I switched to Ableton about a year ago so I can give my two cents on this. So basically Live packs contain more than sounds only for better integration and Ableton has also one of the best stock sounds overall compared to all other daws on the market so you can use them in your projects on the fly and it doesn't matter if it's a synth, drum kit or FX it is all great stuff. Good connections with 3rd party developers for Live packs, instruments and M4L devices and also a lot of presets. One of the best time stretch & pitching engines (no need of Halftime or Serato Sample)Īdvanced comping features & Live performance daw This is basically a lean version too of FL Studio and it comes with multiple limitations too and a lot of people don't even talk about that either.įive AAS high quality instruments & Spitfire instruments (Suite edition) There is a hge difference between the full version and the producer edition which the majority of producers use. The only great thing straight from the gecko is Simpler which destroys all stock and even paid samplers like Serato Sample.īesides of this it is hard to say what is best since you're using FL for 5 years and maybe you didn't checked FL's full potential. The instruments in ableton Suite come from Applied Acoustic Systems which are known for their top notch hardware analog synthesis. ![]() You really can't compare Live Lite with Logic Pro bc you comparing a full daw vs a lean limited version. ![]() U/LFObbq'S Big list of favorite free Max4Live Devices Don't forget to check out our sister sites /r/MadeWithAbleton and /r/AbletonRacks!
